I am the coolest kid on the block…
At least the coolest kid in the hotel.
A couple years ago, Meggin and I were in the same hotel that I am in now. We were here during Christmas for work. I have to say that was one of the best Christmas’s ever! Just me and my woman, in a foreign country, with no family to have to drive 5 hours to get to. Just us. I can’t tell you the last time I received a toy for Christmas. I don’t mean a “man toy” like tools or some other gadget for the garage, I’m talking about a toy. One of the gifts under our little 8000 yen Christmas tree was a little remote control helicopter. It was awesome. You couldn’t really control the thing but it was awesome anyway. I literally felt like a kid at Christmas.
Today it got even better. After coming “home” to the hotel room I had a package waiting for me, from my wife Meggin. Upon opening it, I found another helicopter waiting for me to smash into the walls of the room.
This thing rocks! You can actually control this helicopter. I still suck at it but it is WAY better than the one from a couple years ago. This thing will actually hover!

iAnything Junkie
I am an Apple junkie. Love just about anything that Apple puts out. Doesn’t matter if it is actually useful or not. You have to admit, Apple products are just sexy (as far as gadgets go).
I recently aquired the new ipod touch. This was to be my Christmas present from my loving woman. I knew what it was when she got it over a month ago. This drove me nuts as I was going to have to wait 3 months before getting my paws on that little slice of Apple Heaven.
After a month of whining, danceing around like a little kid and just plain begging, I got my wish
She caved!
All I got to say is that it is awesome! That thing goes with me wherever I go. Don’t know how I got along without it. Now I can play Angry Birds whenever I want to and not have to beg to use someone else’s ipod of iphone.
Besides having so much music with me and movies at my fingertips, there are so many apps to download and use. Granted, many of them are useless but there are so many that are useful and or cool. I have just scratched the surface of this device.
The only downside to the ipod touch as compared to the iphone is the camera. Being a camera freak I was really looking forward to the quality of camera that is on the iphone. This was simply not the case here. I guess with the ipod touch being so impossibly thin, Apple could not squeeze the same 5 megapixel camera sensor in there. The video quality does not seem to differ much though, from the iphone, but I haven’t had a chance to compare that much. Maybe one day Verizon will get the iphone and the world will be complete but until that time I will continue to enjoy yet another product of happiness from the guys at Apple.
